GirlCoder club

It’s not enough for children to just play with technology, we have to encourage them and give them a chance to understand, create, and work with it.

GirlCoder Club a nationwide network of  volunteer-led,  coding clubs designed for primary and high school girls who want to have a strong foundation in basic programming skills.

The GirlCoder Club will be open to boys, but primarily focused on girls. Classes will be held on every Second Friday and Saturdays for participants who are in grades 4-12, from March– October.

Primary students will learn MIT Scratch which will teach them how to program their own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share their creations with others in the online community.

Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.

High School Students will learn Html and CSS which are the basics for web development and advance to Javascript and Python programming.

Fees: R150 per month - Scholarships are available on the application form for parents who cant pay.
