Women in tech: Nsovo Manganyi

I am a fullstack developer, I jokingly like to call myself the vertical slice kinder girl, like how you eat cake. I have always been inquisitive of the story development from the backend to the frontend.  I love code , passionate about teaching and motivating young girls about coding and STEM.

I  always want to make things that make a difference ,

passionate about building excellent software that improves the lives of those around me.

Nelson Mandela once said: “In Africa there is a concept known as ‘ubuntu’ – the profound sense that we are human only through the humanity of others; that if we are to accomplish anything in this world it will in equal measure be due to the work and achievement of others.”
I normally ask myself: How can my work be of service? How can I help someone, how can I at least help change someone’s life? It gives me so much joy to see the next person doing well, especially those who do it against the odds.I believe that each and every one of us is a humanitarian in one way or the other.I have been given an opportunity to keep mastering my craft outside of my workplace as well. Volunteering  has helped me a lot in growing in all levels of life. The teacher learned the most, that has been my experience. It has enriched my life.

I am a very proud mother to a 3 year old very intelligent boy, my most important job. Sweet, sweet motherhood! It is hard to juggle both working and being a mom. This is my experience, It requires focus, discipline and motivation. It is important to know who you are, what your values are and most important your priority ,so that if ever there is chaos between work ,life you don’t get swallowed. It does get better when you figure out a schedule that works for you or/and have some form of supporting structure in place. I think there are a lot of challenges and stigmas no matter the Industry. I am fortunate that my employer is great and is able to support my mummy schedule as well.

Through it all I learned not to be too hard on myself, there are times where I stop, just breath and Love Laugh and Live!
